After nearly a year, the United States agreed to remove its tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum on Friday, last week.
The Canadian government has been unwavering in its determination to have these tariffs removed. And since day one, it stood shoulder to shoulder with the steel and aluminum workers paying the price of these tariffs. It made available $2 billion for steel and aluminum industries wanting to invest in their employees and their futures, with dedicated funding for small- and medium-sized Canadian manufacturers. It will continue to work with many companies across the country.
